Smith Bros. (Quinton) Ltd

Smith Bros. (Quinton) Ltd has been in existence since 1927, starting in Quinton and moving to Titford Road, Oldbury in the 1950's and then in 2004 to Tipton on the western edge of Birmingham.

On our current site we are involved in the manufacture of timber and plywood export packing cases in addition to production of various other timber products from quality garden buildings and other specialist timber goods to pallets and crates.

From the West Midlands site Smith Bros. (Quinton) Ltd produce large export packing cases to take loads in excess of 4 tonnes down to small narrow gasket boxes just 75 mm in width. Case designs varying from heavily framed and clad timber cases with bulky internal fitments to 4 mm plywood metal edged boxes suitable for air freight.

Within the Midlands product range are timber pallets, pallet collars, collapsible timber and plywood cases, collapsible returnable cases, crates, hardboard clad crates and cases, paper lined cases as well as an additional production arm manufacturing plywood and weather board sheds.

An example of one such product the SCRUM (Smiths Collapsible Returnable Universal Module) has been developed and patented by the company and can be supplied in any size from 300 mm square upwards to suit your requirements. The SCRUM is a nail-less timber/plywood collapsible case that slots together in a unique manner.

As with all our products we design them specifically for our customers’ requirements. We have a number of experts on site who can advise customers as to which is the best way to pack their products for export or for transportation.

As with other divisions of Smith Bros. (Quinton) Ltd we have invested a great deal of money recently in the most modern equipment to produce our products. We carry a large stock of timber and plywood and can react very quickly to our customer's requirements, delivering at very short notice. We also have our own transport and so are not reliant on outside bodies for our service.
